Cline Library Social Media Policy
The Cline Library community is a large online community. Our social media is a space for our users to easily connect with one another and to engage with Cline Library. Cline Library welcomes participation and encourages users to post, comment, and interact with others through commentary that is responsive to Cline Library posts. Cline Library respects the freedom of speech and First Amendment rights of our online community. While it is okay to voice an opinion, complaint, or disagreement with one another, we ask that users do so in a constructive manner. By posting a comment on our social media sites, users agree to follow the terms of use of the site and Cline Library and NAU regulations and policies.
Cline Library reserves the right to remove or hide user content or comments:
- Intended to discriminate or harass
- That infringe someone’s rights
- That are a violation of law
- That promote commercial entities or contain solicitations
Where warranted, the library reserves the right to escalate the issue to the appropriate authority.
A user who wishes to report a concern, comment, or complaint related to Cline Library’s social media should contact Cline Library at nau.edu/library or 928-523-2173 or cline.library@nau.edu.
Cline Library employees, student employees, interns and volunteers who identify themselves as such on their personal social media should make it clear that the views expressed are not necessarily those of Cline Library. Cline Library employees, student employees, interns and volunteers should strive to maintain an appropriate and respectful tone when engaging in online discussion.
