Flagstaff鈥檚 first Youth Poet Laureate

According to NAU alumna Micaela Merryman, BA English, 鈥�22, poetry is 鈥渙ne of the best resources we have to understand one another, offering insight into perspectives that we may never experience firsthand.鈥� Her passion for sharing poetry with the public began at NAU and continues with events in Flagstaff, including the Off the Rails poetry series and the Northern Arizona Book Festival. Connections developed during these events led to her becoming Flagstaff鈥檚 first Youth Poet Laureate. As Poet Laureate, she initiated the Youth Poetry Council, which offers literary events for high school and college students.
