Special Collections & Archives: Collaborating for a broader understanding
Special Collections and Archives is pleased to collaborate with the following institutions in an effort to provide patrons with a broader understanding of the human and natural history of the Colorado Plateau.
Arizona Historical Society, Northern Division
The mission of the , Northern Division is to collect, preserve, interpret, and disseminate the history of Flagstaff and the surrounding region from the military expeditions of the 1850s to the mid-twentieth century. Special Collections and Archives (SCA) provides physical storage space–and access to–the holdings of the Arizona Historical Society (AHS), Northern Division. SCA also hosts a large number of AHS materials in its digital archives. A formal Memorandum of Agreement signed between the two institutions details the specific arrangements that underpin this agreement.

Hopi Cultural Preservation Office
SCA hosts a selection of images owned by the (HCPO) on its digital archives. Staff from the HCPO, in consultation with elders, select and describe the photographs and documents added to the digital archives. Furthermore, SCA provides physical storage space for HCPO materials in its climate-controlled collections storage vault. A formal Memorandum of Understanding between SCA and the Hopi Tribe provides greater detail and is available upon request.
Navajo Nation Museum
The goal of the Navajo Nation Museum archives is to collect, organize, preserve, document, educate, and provide access, information, and resources by and about Diné people. SCA hosts a selection of images owned by the and provides online access to these materials through the SCA digital archives.
