Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
For Northern Arizona University students
The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is for members of the PTK Honor Society who are transferring to NAU.
Award amount
Arizona residents: $4,000 per academic year
Non-residents (including WUE): $6,000 per academic year
Availability and renewal
Two consecutive years (fall and spring terms only) provided renewal criteria are met.
This scholarship can be combined with other tuition scholarships as long as it does not exceed the cost of the non-resident tuition rate. For WUE students, this scholarship can be awarded up to the WUE tuition rate when combined with other tuition-only awards.
How to apply
Submit the following documents to scholarships@nau.edu:
- completed and signed Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship application,
- copy of your Phi Theta Kappa membership card or certificate, and
- community college unofficial transcripts
Please note: our office requires full transcripts with all grades posted to confirm eligibility.
Deadline
There is no final deadline for PTK selection. We’ll evaluate students according to all necessary documentation, including final community college transcripts with all grades posted. Students can even apply for the PTK scholarship after they begin classes at NAU.
Eligibility criteria
- Be a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
- Be currently attending a two-year college and transferring to NAU (with no break in enrollment between schools).
- Have a 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA.
- Be enrolled full-time (12+ credits per semester).
- Meet NAU’s general criteria for transfer scholarships.
Renewal criteria
- Maintain a 2.0 cumulative NAU GPA
- Continue to be enrolled full-time (12+ credits per semester)
