Student Support Services for upper-class students
What to expect as a sophomore, junior, and senior
Whether you are just now learning about SSS, have been involved since your first year at NAU, or are a recent transfer student, you are welcome to apply to participate in SSS. As a sophomore, junior, or senior, available services evolve with you as a student.

The first step to joining Student Support Services is . The priority date for Fall 2023 is July 10.
Two to four weeks after submitting your application, you will receive communication from SSS staff with information regarding your eligibility and admission to the program. You will then participate in an intake appointment and be paired with a professional staff member as a mentor.
Professional mentorship Accordion Closed
At least three times throughout each semester, you will have the opportunity to meet with a professional staff member for mentorship and guidance. SSS students and staff members discuss topics such as academics, learning strategies, employment opportunities, and referrals for tutoring and counseling services.

In addition to meeting with a professional staff member, SSS students have the opportunity to take advantage of the following services:
- access to weekly tutoring through the Academic Success Centers
- access to counseling services through NAU Campus Health Services
- a financial literacy module to help students gain confidence in finances
- an opportunity for a grant each semester to help pay for college
