The AIGA Student group is NAU’s Graphic Design Club affiliated with the American Institute of Graphic Arts. AIGA is the oldest and largest membership association for professionals engaged in the discipline, practice and culture of design. We’ll help you understand the design field and prepare you for a successful start into your career.
Events we organize include craft nights (e.g. button and sticker making), critique nights, movie nights, game nights (e.g. Typefight), creative mixers with local design professionals, design talks, design conferences, workshops, studio tours, design challenges/competitions.
Meetings are held Thursdays from 5:30–6:30pm, in room 240 in the Communications building.
This is a free club and does not require a membership fee.

NAU Forensics—Speech and Debate Team Accordion Closed

NAU Forensics is a competitive student team that practices and competes at local, regional, and national speech and debate tournaments each year. Our goal is to improve students’ skills in speaking, listening, research and writing, and reasoning through hands-on practice and competition. Our students compete in British Parliamentary, Parliamentary, and Lincoln-Douglas debate, along with individual speech events included in the American Forensics Association. NAU’s team prides itself on being a nationally competitive and recognized team.

Welcome to our dynamic community of aspiring legal professionals, encompassing both men and women who share a passion for pursuing careers in the field of law. Our organization offers a plethora of valuable resources and opportunities, including engaging guest speaker events, LSAT preparation sessions, and active participation in law fairs. Our meetings typically convene every other Tuesday, commencing in September, at 7:00 PM. Please note that meeting dates and venues are subject to change, so stay updated!
For pre-law students eager to join our ranks, there is a one-time initiation fee of $125. We look forward to your enthusiastic involvement in our vibrant legal community!

The NAU Photo Club mentors students in photography. Whether at the beginner or advanced levels, we bring in speakers, attend field trips and create a community around photography. Join us for projects, field trips, and other activities.

PRSSA—Public Relations Student Society of America Accordion Closed

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. PRSSA can help you gain the experience and practical knowledge employers are seeking. We offer internship listings, competitions, scholarships, awards and leadership opportunities. PRSSA can connect you to a network of peers and professionals who will become lifelong friends and mentors.
Enjoy guest speakers with expertise in a variety of industries and sectors, professional development tools, access to national conference information, annual Shadow Day visits with agencies in Phoenix, and more. Meetings are held every other Tuesday during fall and spring semester at 6pm via Zoom.
Cost for dues is $65.
Society of Professional Journalists Accordion Closed
Faculty Advisor: Mary Tolan
SPJ members network with journalists across the country; maintain career connections; have access to a database of breaking industry news; are eligible for scholarships, fellowships and internships; have special benefits such as insurance, health plans, discounted travel and career clothes. Students become well-versed in First Amendment rights, in the ethics that govern the profession and in the relationship that exists among the public, government and the press.
